Forestry First Aid

This Qualification is designed to supplement a First Aiders existing First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and covers the recommended topics stated in the Forestry Commission First Aid policy 2015.

Duration:
A minimum of 2 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. This qualification can also be combined with the 1 day Emergency at Work or the 3 day First Aid at Work course, providing the assessment criteria has been achieved.

Syllabus:

  • A range of subjects are covered including:
  • Emergency planning and remote medical assistance.
  • Catastrophic bleeding control
  • Crush injuries
  • Effects of extreme cold
  • Lyme disease

Certification:
The practical and theoretical assessment is ongoing throughout the duration of the course, a three year FAA level 3 award in Forestry First Aid certificate will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.

Numbers:
A maximum of 12 students per course.
