First aid at Work Re-qualification

This two day course is designed for those who currently hold a First Aid at Work qualification and are due to expire and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982.

Duration:
A minimum of 12 hours. Ideally the course will run over two days.

Syllabus:

  • A range of subjects are covered including:
  • Legalities, responsibilities, and reporting Control of bleeding Poisoning Asthma
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty Shock Bandaging Diabetes
  • Fractures and spinal injuries Heart attacks Choking Stroke
  • CPR and AED Head injuries Eye injuries Burns
  • Assessment of the situation Sprains and strains Chest injuries Epilepsy

Certification:
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment. On successful completion students will receive a FFA level 3 (level 6 Scotland) Award First Aid at Work certificate valid for 3 years.

Numbers:
A maximum of 12 students per course.
